I am literally IN LOVE with this project.
I love everything about it, its fun, easy , quick, detailed, clear, all encompassing and overwhelming ands crazy awesome.
I am so happy that I decided to embark on PL 2012. There is nothing I dislike about it at all!!
I have so many memories documented in such a lovely way, that perhaps I would not have got around to doing had I not done Project Life.
My only wish is that I had done this last year too!!!
Oh the possibilities!!!
So how do I do it?
(I might have covered some of these points in previous posts, so if you know this already feel free to skip!)
I work Sunday to Saturday. Purely as that is how the year started.
I capture my photos on my iphone and dslr.
I try to include at least 7 images per week, but mostly a do waaaaaaay more.
I started off using the Becky Higgins Project Life Cherry Edition but gradually introduced lots more of my own supplies from kits etc and found more of my style this way.
I use the Design A page protectors.
I almost always add a separate insert, these range from WRMK pp's, Simple Stories PP, BH PL pp's to American Crafts 6x4 pp's.
I like to add flaps.
( brilliant if you only need to add one more picture to the page. I don't sew these in place, i use clear tape, although i might well sew them all at the end of the year)
I use Cherry Edition album, this is super thick and I think I will be able to fit up to August perhaps September inside.
I use a LOT of 6x6 paper pads for the background papers of each pocket.
(These are perfect as the pattern is the same just reduced and in proportion, much better than cutting up 12x12 sheets)
I print the vast majority of my pictures at home on my Canon Selphy. I did used to use an inkjet printer towards the beginning but it was less pretty.
I often add in collages and do this using the Picasa collage function and then print at Photobox (or Tesco if I only have one to print and want to save on postage)
I love to add in memorabilia , I collect things throughout the week and pop them in the shelf in the kitchen, things like labels, stickers from purchases, receipts, art work from nursery. All sorts that will add interest and be the things i want to look back on years to come.
I keep a note file for every week on my phone. So if i remember something that has happened ill jot it down, or if Bella says something funny or does something new then ill make a note of it and add it in that week.
I also use the project 365 app on my phone to keep notes and pictures from the week too.
It helps when looking back over the week to have some prompts .
I like to start the week off with a card detailing the week number and dates, I stopped doing this for a while and then got back into it and went back and added them all. it frames the week perfectly.
I aim to make all of my mini pages/pockets on Sunday afternoon detailing the previous week. At home printing makes this a whole lot easier.
( although sometimes it doesn't always work out that way)
I am inspired by my friends who are doing this project too, it helps keep it fresh and fun.
I like to use instagram to follow other people who are taking part, I love new ideas and techniques.
I find flat letters are pure genius and love the October Afternoon market letters and the Alpha beans from Jillibean soup. I still ADORE the Sassafras little letters too!!
Most of all I make it mine and don't add any pressure. If I want to make some weeks more detailed than others then that's great, if not then I don't.
This is our story of our lives and living that life comes first. .
Enjoy and link me up to your blogs of you are taking part I would love to see what you do.
Thanks for popping by and looking , I have to say one last thing which is my family love it as much as I do and that makes this perfect in every way!!
